Air Pollution Measurements in Moscow
Map of air monitoring system in Moscow
1. Air monitoring system in Moscow
2. Main terms and definitions used
2.1 LVms and LVda for pollutants measured by ACS network
2.2 ACI (Air Contamination Index)
At Moscow sources of contamination presented by 31000 industrial and construction objects including 2500 transport organizations, 13 central boiler station, 63 regional and more than 1000 small boilers, and about 3 000 000 automobiles.
As a result, near 1 000 000 tons of pollutants are emitted to the atmosphere each year. Automobile transport is a main source of contamination (83%), industrial sources occupy second place (11%). Emission from heat-and-power engineering constitutes 6% of total emission.
