Air Pollution Measurements in Moscow

Map of air monitoring system in Moscow

1. Air monitoring system in Moscow

2. Main terms and definitions used

2.1 LVms and LVda for pollutants measured by ACS network

2.2 ACI (Air Contamination Index)

3. Air contamination sources

4. General air pollution characteristic

In general, in 2004 rate of air contamination decreased in comparison with 2003. ACI, that includes 5 most important pollutants' concentrations (CO, NO2, NO, O3, formaldehyde), in 2004 comes to 6,2%, that 8% lower than 2003 value. Diagram represents repeating of ACI values in 2004.

(x – ACI values, y – frequency) Air contamination in Moscow is not homogenous.
